I mentioned earlier that the beginning felt like setup for something larger, and now it’s here. This is a skillfully made film. 👌 It's pretty clear that the storyline weaves in numerous Islamic concepts in a way that feels questionable; references to Lisan Al-Gaib, Muad’Dib, Mahdi, Fedaykin, the practice of Sujud, women wearing chadors, and even the connection between Atreides & Arrakis and the Maturidis & Iraq. If Edward Said were still alive, he'd definitely have a lot to comment on! I personally found that disturbing, which is why for the rating I gave it.
