It’s an okay film, though I don't foresee myself revisiting it and can’t really give it a full endorsement. There’s something worthwhile in analyzing this movie closely. The script feels lacking, particularly when it comes to the characters. It does possess a fairly engaging storyline: a foolish person manipulates an unpleasant individual into joining him on a cross-country road trip. It's a reasonably good story, and I was thinking of it as being similar in spirit to "The Hangover." My main issue is that I felt like stronger performances might have made the characters more believable. Then I recalled that Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis were involved, and it’s hard to imagine how much better casting could be for those roles; they've likely already improved the material considerably. A large portion of the movie feels extraneous, like mismatched elements introduced only to be ignored. These moments either lead to a minor joke that doesn't quite land or require considerable effort to generate some situational humor. Take the dog, for instance—it’s really only involved in one or two significant jokes throughout the entire film; otherwise, it's just a responsibility. The coffee can, conversely, appears repeatedly and contributes to the characters’ overall development. I wouldn’t say it isn’t humorous; if you enjoy "Anger Management," you may find this appealing. However, I believe there are many other films out there that would be a better choice.
