Charles, portrayed by Dany Boon, is a Parisian taxi driver nearing his breaking point when he receives a dispatch across town. While seemingly unenthusiastic, the potential earnings compel him to accept the assignment: transporting 92-year-old “Mme. Keller” (Line Renaud) to a nursing home against her wishes. Their initial exchanges are brief, but as they contend with city traffic, their conversation deepens into something more personal and revealing. Mme. Keller shares significant and difficult experiences from her past, which Charles responds to over coffee, an encounter with the police, ice cream, and numerous heartfelt discussions. Flashbacks illustrating portions of her history feature Alice Isaaz as a younger version of herself and Jérémie Laheurte as her husband, whose abusive behavior she addresses with a surprisingly effective method. Hadriel Roure and Thomas Alden also appear as “Mathieu,” contributing to the understanding of how this woman arrived at her present outlook on life. The film's appeal largely stems from the well-written dialogue unfolding within the taxi, allowing both characters to connect while blending serious themes with lighter moments. Although the ending felt a bit too sentimental for my taste, I found it to be an ultimately pleasant look at aging and different viewpoints.
