It’s easy to see how this movie faded into obscurity given the many vampire films released around the same time. This overlooked entry features a compelling and intimidating portrayal of the Count by Jack Palance, thanks to Dan Curtis' capable direction. The film benefits significantly from a strong script written by Richard Matheson, a well-known name in horror and science fiction. It’s also evident that care was taken with the production, and Nigel Davenport delivers a memorable performance as Van Helsing.
