Dr. No portrays Sean Connery as a courageous secret agent called Bond. James Bond is known as 007 among his colleagues. Although these films about Bond are still primarily focused on espionage, there’s an early suggestion of the more elaborate and iconic movies that would come later. The settings aren't particularly far-flung, but a taste of them appears, along with glimpses of attractive women and Bond’s sense of right and wrong in a world filled with animosity. Bond takes lives to prevent others from taking them; his violence has an underlying moral purpose. Ursula Andress is remarkably beautiful. She may not be the most alluring woman to appear in a Bond film, but she's certainly the most attractive blonde. The deep tan they applied helped, because back then, studio lighting wasn’t kind to fair skin. Unlike many of the villains who would follow, Dr. No remains largely unseen. He is an obscure but malevolent figure that needs to be dealt with for the benefit of everyone. Will Bond manage to stop him?
