I recall getting this film a long time ago when we used to rely on paper TV magazines to see what was playing each night. Back then, those magazines often included a DVD as an extra, and this was one of them. My movie records show that we’ve owned it since 2008, and last night we finally watched it. It's a decent enough film. It won’t be particularly exciting, but it's reasonably good and worth seeing. It makes for a pleasant thriller or fugitive-style movie to watch during the week. I don’t think I would have been very enthusiastic about seeing it in theaters, but as a TV movie, it was quite enjoyable. Of course, there are those predictable silly moments common to this type of film—like the wife who just has to grab the knife right before the police show up. Why do so many scriptwriters feel the need to include that kind of thing in every movie? I generally like Tommy Lee Jones, even though he seems to look and act pretty much the same regardless of the role. I suppose I appreciate consistency. The story is okay; it’s a fairly standard tale about a husband setting up his wife, who then seeks revenge, and doesn't offer any real surprises. One thing that struck me was that the car dealer apparently ran a credit check on a woman who, as we later learn in the movie, had been deceased for three years. It seems like someone overlooked script verification regarding believability, but again, the film isn’t going to be amazing and the plot is fairly typical Hollywood storytelling with the usual silly elements.
