It’s a bit startling that some viewers found enjoyment in this movie. If you’re familiar with horror films, don't expect anything remarkable; it’s simply an unremarkable film. The sole redeeming quality was its British origin. Had it been produced in Hollywood, I would have criticized every aspect of it. There's no justification for relying on a book as an excuse—when adapting material into a screenplay, one anticipates originality, not recycled ideas. The storyline is familiar: centered around a local legend, the plot involves a teenage couple who decide to investigate a story they’ve heard, which places them in danger. Later, the girl reunites with her mother, who has returned to town attempting reconciliation, and together they try to escape an otherworldly menace. The narrative then unfolds, detailing their efforts and culminating in a surprise ending. The beginning, development, and resolution mirror those of countless other horror movies. It’s watchable enough, but not particularly good. They even teased the possibility of another installment at the end, which I believe shouldn't happen given how uninspired this film is. Horror consistently ranks among the lowest-rated genres, and this addition does nothing to change that. Whether or not you might find it enjoyable is uncertain, but I’m not recommending that anyone disregard it entirely. _4/10_
