It’s been an excellent year for horror films, and _Don't Breathe_ has secured a place among my favorite movies of the last nine months—so much so that three out of my top five are now in the genre. That’s pretty wild, even for someone who loves horror as much as I do. Fede Alvarez really delivered with _Don't Breathe_. I’ve been impressed by everything he’s done so far, and that’s not easy to do given he’s only directed a couple of films. The movie goes against many common horror tropes, which is something I appreciate. It relies on quiet moments and subtle sounds to create suspense rather than relying on loud noises. There aren't any characters who are purely good or purely bad... And the dog is surprisingly adorable amidst all the chaos. _Final rating:★★★★ - A solid film with a bit of something special._
