I have to admit, I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. The storyline does stretch believability, it's true, but the movie moves along at a brisk speed, incorporating some successful jump scares. Stephen Lang delivers a solid performance as the character who is blind and attempting to save his "daughter" from her previously unknown relatives, and his portrayal becomes even more compelling when the reasons behind their desire for a reunion are revealed. Madelyn Grace also performs adequately in the role of the young girl, Phoenix, and I personally found Fiona O'Shaughnessy’s unpleasant “mother” character thoroughly unlikeable. It isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it easily fills an hour and a half and serves as a reminder to treat your dog with respect—or face the consequences!
