I bought a large collection of Marilyn Monroe movies on DVD not long ago because it was offered at a great deal, but I quickly discovered that the discs were packaged in a way that damaged them. After watching as much of the films as I could, I ended up selling the set, wishing for a better version to come out later. I prefer older formats, and I’m hoping this issue will be resolved soon. Like you might have noticed from my previous reviews of Richard Widmark's work, I really enjoy his movies—he’s one of my favorite performers from that time, consistently entertaining and engaging. Roy Ward Baker is also a director who doesn't get enough recognition; his film 'A Night to Remember,' which is part of the Criterion Collection, stands out as the finest depiction of the Titanic disaster. Because of those three factors alone, I strongly suggest this movie to anyone interested in exploring films from this period.
