It's undeniable that Dolly Parton is a remarkable musician, and knowing she faced challenges related to her looks made me anticipate a deeper exploration of that in this film. What I ended up with felt more like a collection of interviews—apparently from people who know her—sharing recollections, accompanied by occasional photographs and video clips illustrating those stories. This format just isn't what I prefer; the constant shifts between different time periods disrupted the narrative’s momentum, unlike documentaries that present events chronologically leading to the current day. Ultimately, this documentary didn't quite work for me, though it did offer a glimpse into her life that was somewhat engaging.
