Dog Man is something you really should see. It’s true that Dog Man isn’t without problems. The plot leaves a lot to be desired, and the jokes are mostly awkward, though there are moments of genuine humor that do manage to shine through. Those few funny parts can make up for the less successful aspects if you're willing to overlook them. The visuals, however, are absolutely gorgeous. I’d love to live in this world; it’s become my favorite art style. I could happily watch it repeatedly. The look of Coraline was amazing, and The Nightmare Before Christmas had a striking beauty even with its intentionally unsettling design. Dog Man's artwork surpasses them all. It's the best ever. A video game based on this setting would be incredible, immediately! And hopefully there will be a Dog Man 2, with improved writing and funnier jokes. I was somewhat let down by the voice actor for Petey’s character. Dog Man himself sounded great, the chief was wonderful, Rickey Gervais as Flippy was spot-on, but Big Pete? The role needed someone with more authority and a sense of menace—someone like Sylvester Stallone, perhaps. The film is also very heartwarming and geared toward children. I’m confident that kids everywhere will enjoy it. I plan to watch it again, maybe even with my niece 😊. Go see it!
