It's entertaining to look at—the special effects are surprisingly decent—and the plot is engaging enough to mostly make sense, though the Doctor Who movie isn’t without its issues regarding how quickly things move and callbacks to earlier stories (certain developments might upset some viewers). Eric Roberts clearly overacts in the role of The Master, seeming like Porky Pig, while Paul McGann provides a likable portrayal of the Doctor. However, he doesn't quite live up to the standard set by his predecessor, Sylvester McCoy, who appears early on but is then understandably removed from the narrative. Jelly baby?
