This charming small-town story features Michael J. Fox as a doctor from Washington D.C. hoping to make it big as a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. His plans are derailed when he gets stranded in a quiet South Carolina town, where he reconnects with simpler values and realizes that wealth isn't everything. Julie Warner and Bridget Fonda both vie for his attention, while Woody Harrelson portrays a competitor and David Ogden Stiers takes on the role of the local mayor. The storyline of “Doc Hollywood,” released in 1991, bears similarities to "Northern Exposure" and seems to have influenced the animated film "Cars" from 2006.
