Vincent Cassel portrays the titular bank robber who commands a group of unusual and troubled individuals. The police attempt to stop them, but their efforts are largely ineffective until they bring in the severe "Cristini" (Tchéky Karyo) to lead the investigation. From that point on, an increasingly strange and dreamlike series of events unfolds, pushing boundaries with considerable violence, dark humor, cross-dressing, and more violence. I appreciated how the film concluded; it was unexpected and not characteristic of similar movies. The script is fairly weak, and the lighting could have been brighter so that the action would be clearer at times. As a dramatic work, it provides a fast-moving and moderately enjoyable, albeit improbable, look into a dark and unpleasant world, and Cassel—even though he isn’t present for much of the runtime—appears comfortable in his role. This won't appeal to all viewers; it is quite unsavory, and the storyline mocks everything from "For A Few Dollars More" (1965) to "The French Connection" (1971), with a touch of soft-core adult content included as well. It’s not particularly good, and I doubt I'll ever revisit it, but I didn't dislike it.
