It proved to be an enjoyable spaghetti western, though it didn’t quite reach the heights of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly; I still found myself appreciating it considerably, especially Franco Nero's performance in the main role. The film seemed to expend much of its energy early on with that machine gun sequence, and I would have appreciated learning what was inside the coffin by the story’s end. Despite that, the ending worked well. **3.75/5**
