I have a feeling _Disobedience_ might be in the running for some Oscars; the subject matter—it’s about Jewish lesbians—suggests that's fairly likely. It turned out to be a pretty solid film overall. I appreciated that they didn’t push the intimate scenes too much, but it would be nice if there were more queer films that fell somewhere in between extremes. It often seems like you either get low-budget comedies that are intentionally silly—things like _Yeti: A Love Story_—or very serious, artistic dramas, beautifully crafted but also pretty bleak, such as _Moonlight_. I am grateful for both kinds of movies, certainly, but I’d love to see something more akin to _Die Hard_, with Bruce Willis doing something unexpected. P.S. I'm getting the soundtrack. Final rating:★★★ - I liked it. I would suggest checking it out.
