There are some things to appreciate about 'Disenchanted,' even though it’s mostly dull. The visual effects are well-done, and the movie is more engaging when Amy Adams and Maya Rudolph share scenes. Some of the intended emotional depth does eventually come across effectively, and the animated sequences are pleasant. Despite these merits, I can’t honestly say that I found this enjoyable; it felt like a chore to watch. I thought the original film was barely acceptable, but this follow-up simply didn't quite work for me.
