I hadn’t previously watched the TV series available on Roku, so my assessment is based entirely on this film, which appears to be a compilation of episodes adapted into *Die Hart: The Movie*. It seems like there's a current tendency for actors to create parodies of themselves, something that started with JCVD. This movie centers around Kevin Hart’s portrayal of an aspiring action movie star. The story involves his participation in a training program led by Ron Wilcox (played by John Travolta), where he attempts to master the skills needed to become an action hero. Although the concept is intriguing, the actual film doesn't quite work. The comedy, which is usually Hart’s strength, is there, but it frequently misses the mark. The action sequences are underwhelming and feel incomplete, a real letdown considering this is intended as an action-comedy. The acting isn't particularly impressive; Hart tries his best to hold the movie together, but even his charisma can't compensate for the flawed writing. The other actors do alright, though most of them are easily overlooked, with the exception of Jean Reno. The film’s rhythm is also uneven—some scenes drag on and feel pointless, while others seem hurried and not fully developed. The storyline is entirely predictable, offering no unexpected developments or surprises to capture the viewer's attention.
