Being ten years old when *Die Hard* was released, I really enjoyed that film, but I didn’t care for *Die Hard 2*. Now, as an adult, revisiting this movie reveals that it holds up reasonably well against contemporary films. If it had been produced in 2020, it would likely have become a hugely popular and critically acclaimed blockbuster—everyone in the country would be talking about it, with the possible exception of those who insist on finding political meaning in everything. However, it was actually released in 1990, which meant that at the time, it was considered an unremarkable action film that didn’t measure up to its predecessor. The point is, I'm writing this review in 2020, and when viewed alongside modern films, particularly the later *Die Hard* installments, it’s a worthwhile movie.
