It’s certainly not among my top Bond films, but I did enjoy it quite a bit. My only exposure to Sean Connery’s final appearance as 007—considered his “official” role—until now has been through the recent complete James Bond collection on blu-ray, presented without television edits and in its full aspect ratio; so this feels like my true first viewing. It's perfectly acceptable. Even when he's at a low point, with that obvious hairpiece and weighed down by a script that’s just… painful, it’s undeniable that Connery remains the definitive Bond.
