It's an enjoyable film, something I could see again, though I can’t really suggest it to others. The movie is quite strange. It centers on Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder portraying unlikeable characters—reportedly "the worst," according to their family. They behave in ways that seem to ignore basic instincts for staying alive. If you're a fan of “Clerks” or Kevin Smith’s films, there’s a chance you might appreciate this one. It relies heavily on dialogue and features some engaging exchanges between characters. The unusual aspect is that it seems designed as a romantic (or not) comedy, which creates a challenge in making these two individuals develop an attraction to each other, much less act on it. I believe both the script and the performers handle this exceptionally well. I had difficulty connecting with it myself; if I were sharing a flight with Winona Ryder acting like her character does here, I'd still be drawn to her. It’s hard to say whether my reaction stems from genuinely finding merit in what they present—which is unsettling—or simply being attracted to her. There’s an interesting sociological angle explored, but it’s almost entirely based on interactions between just two people, so I wouldn't be surprised if the premise doesn't appeal to everyone.
