It was genuinely lovely to watch. I imagine it’s a peculiar thing, growing up as the offspring of an acclaimed filmmaker and then working within the same type of movies. One has to wonder if the approach would be similar, or if there'd be an attempt at something entirely new. Seeing this on the big screen alongside the original 'The Blob' from the nineteen fifties would be a wonderful pairing—both are films that challenge the assumption that going to the cinema is always a secure and comforting experience.
