Ben Affleck portrays "Vic," a man enjoying a comfortable life alongside his beautiful wife, "Melinda" (Ana de Armas). However, their marriage isn’t what it seems; she embraces an open relationship that leaves him uncomfortable, often displaying her various younger lovers openly to him and their social circle. When one of these men disappears, "Vic" informs his replacement, "Jonas" (Dash Mihok), claiming he ended the man's life with a hammer. Was this statement accurate? Quickly, speculation spreads, intensified by the discovery of another lover, "Charlie" (Jacob Elordi), found dead in the pool! Could "Vic" be responsible? Frankly, I remained uninvested throughout. Affleck’s performance feels off, and he doesn't elevate this outlandish plot. Ana de Armas continues a recent string of weak roles, and her contribution here falls short; simply removing clothing and using suggestive language does not constitute acting. The film concludes in an absurdly poor fashion, making for a truly disappointing work from Adrian Lyne, one that’s as easily dismissed as it is awful. A recognizable cast can't compensate for the absence of compelling storytelling and quality writing. It felt like a complete waste of time for everyone involved.
