While not as disappointing as the follow-up, this installment manages to have a few entertaining scenes—like when the shark attacks someone after they deliver an inspiring speech. However, several characters, particularly at the beginning, felt irritating and stereotypical in their lecturing about environmentalism. The acting wasn't consistently strong either. Despite that, there are some enjoyable deaths, so it might be worth renting, even if it doesn’t come close to matching the quality of the original. **2.5/5**
