As someone who generally favors DC properties, I was still drawn to the Deadpool movie, and expected that I would watch it eventually (I tend to view around 70% of DC releases, but only about 20% of Marvel’s). The film's clearly postmodern style appealed to me—and I really wish Reynolds’ Green Lantern had even a fraction of the humor and appeal present in this one. It will be fascinating to observe how superhero films are impacted, both immediately and over time, by its substantial box office performance.
