It’s hard not to see shades of *Terminator* and even Adam Sandler in *Deadpool 2*. The film’s construction feels very much like a *Terminator* story, something even Deadpool acknowledges when he refers to Cable as Jon Connor. Cable himself seems to be an amalgamation of Jon Connor and the relentless nature of a Terminator. The humor throughout has a similar feel to what you'd find in an Adam Sandler movie. And that’s essentially all there is to it—surprisingly, it works well. It’s like imagining what a *Terminator* film might have looked like if made differently. Interestingly, the director behind the original *Deadpool* is now taking on directing duties for the next *Terminator* installment.
