The film centers on the story of two brothers—who committed a casino robbery and resulted in the death of an officer—along with a man recently released from prison (following an assault on his previous employer), as they attempt to evade authorities while traveling across a wintry landscape. Considering the setup and the actors involved, I was surprised by how lifeless it felt. What began with an engaging and hopeful start quickly devolved into a slow examination of characters who are largely uninteresting and difficult to connect with, ultimately leading to a lackluster resolution that barely registers as exciting.
