This Canadian horror film proved to be a surprisingly enjoyable, low-budget affair. I had no prior knowledge going in, so my expectations were minimal, but I ended up liking it quite a bit—it’s a briskly moving and funny horror comedy. The story involves a disreputable family and the son's friend who take a vacation to a cabin, where they unintentionally uncover some shady activity happening at their neighbors' place. The younger cast members performed well; the father character, in particular, was consistently entertaining and seemed to dominate whenever he appeared. The humor tends toward the immature side, but it’s done effectively and generally lands as intended. While the characters occasionally make questionable decisions—a common trope in horror—it’s easier to overlook because they're often intoxicated or young. It’s unlikely this movie will garner any major accolades, nor does it seem to be striving for that kind of recognition. It embraces its status as a B-movie and delivers on that promise: an amusing, intentionally over-the-top experience with some well-executed visuals. If you enjoy shows like Trailer Park Boys or the film Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, this might appeal to you. 7/10
