Robin Williams, as Keating, joins an all-boys school to teach English, and predictably, the students showed little initial enthusiasm. However, things change when he encourages them to discard the poetry textbook and adopts a motivational and practical teaching style; this sparks their interest and leads them to form a club designed to help each member grow personally. This proves to be a significant challenge for the introverted "Todd," who delivers what seems like the strongest performance of Ethan Hawke's career, and for “Neil,” portrayed by Robert Sean Leonard with impressive restraint and honesty. Neil is dealing with conflicting ambitions—his own aspirations versus his father’s wishes that he attend Harvard and pursue law. It's a truly excellent drama centered on characters, with Williams performing wonderfully, though his role isn't extensive; the core of this moving, humorous, and insightful story lies with the young men. Their collective work reveals various complex aspects of adolescence—ranging from difficult experiences to Tennyson, Shakespeare, and even romantic interests—all conveyed through well-crafted dialogue that thoughtfully explores their developing personalities. I definitely suggest seeing this film.
