It's an uninspired collection of familiar tropes. The protagonist faces misfortune—his marriage is falling apart, he’s struggling financially, and has a child to support—and finds himself pursuing vampires while working as a pool cleaner. Day Shift feels like a lifeless vampire movie, possessing the appearance of danger about as much as dentures do for an elderly person. It lacks originality, moves at a sluggish pace, is poorly cheesy, and features action sequences that are only mildly diverting and appear quite late in the film. Basically, it's just another forgettable action movie with vampires thrown into the mix. That’s all there is to it.
