I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Day Shift! It offers a distinctive feel for vampire hunter stories, largely set in the sun-drenched neighborhoods of Los Angeles. The action and fight scenes have choreography reminiscent of John Wick – which makes sense given Chad Stahelski’s involvement – and the universe presented is captivating; it would be interesting to see more of it in potential sequels. Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco work well together as a buddy cop duo, and while some of the supporting characters aren't fully fleshed out, they are still enjoyable to watch. I am hoping there will be additional installments in this series.
