The movie had potential, largely because of Lil Rel Howery’s performance, but *‘Dashing Through the Snow’* doesn’t quite succeed. Howery is good as Santa, even though he – and the film itself – would have benefited from more material to elevate it. There are moments of mild amusement, however, the movie required a more engaging story and significantly improved rhythm to be truly enjoyable. The antagonists are especially weak and underdeveloped, and the Christmas atmosphere isn't as strong as it should be. The performers, including Howery, Ludacris, and Madison Skye Validum, all put in effort and represent the film’s best qualities. I simply expected more from other aspects; my attention started to drift around the middle.
