It’s difficult for me to accept Johnny Depp as a convincing figure playing a character who is both ancient and perpetually young—an eternally attractive successor to his father's dominion over the New World. Perhaps in a stronger film, I wouldn’t have noticed this issue so much, but given that it’s Tim Burton’s 2012 reimagining of _Dark Shadows_, that simply wasn't possible. Final rating:★★ - It contained elements I enjoyed, yet ultimately failed to deliver.
