The movie 'X-Men' didn’t quite reach what it could have been, especially given the format. It suffers from predictable elements, a worn-out story and performers who seem to be simply fulfilling their obligations. The film is disappointing, feeling like a slog through which the actors are just going through the motions. I would suggest putting off watching it until it’s available digitally, perhaps for a lazy Sunday when you can doze off during the long, draining middle portion and then stir awake for a slightly more bearable conclusion. If you can find me, I'll be searching for Cyclops, hot chocolate, a blanket, and comfort.
