It had been quite some time since I last watched this, likely since the Director’s Cut Blu-ray came out in 2008, but my appreciation for it has grown considerably over the years. I found the story and performances to be excellent, complemented by striking visual effects, even if they are often obscured by shadow. It's always a pleasure to see Rufus Sewell in a heroic role, as he’s frequently cast as antagonists or unpleasant characters. Alex Proyas created a truly remarkable science fiction thriller that ranks only slightly below The Matrix in my estimation. **4.5/5**
