Following a rebellion that removes their benevolent leader and installs a cruel replacement, a quiet Japanese community experiences upheaval. A handful of devoted followers secretly get the lord’s two young children to safety, hoping for sanctuary from a divine being residing on the nearby hillside. A decade passes, the youngsters become adults, and the new, harsh ruler dispatches soldiers to demolish an image honoring the God, intending to demonstrate his dominance. The villagers' combined pleas and the warriors' actions inadvertently stir "Daijamin," who isn’t inclined toward leniency... It’s a diverting fantasy story that blends humanity's darker side with moments of heartfelt hope, Samurai principles, and a colossal stone being reminiscent of Talos, all pursuing a specific goal. My main issue was the substandard English voice acting; it was so over-the-top that much of what is said comes across as ridiculous. The performances—particularly the exaggerated expressions of surprise—are entertaining, and the final fifteen minutes offer considerable destruction. If you appreciate films featuring mythology and natural elements, this one might appeal to you.
