This film easily ranks among the most impressive artistic creations I’ve encountered. I tend to write about my own experiences, and occasionally when reviewing older pieces, I'm struck by just how much I was dealing with at the time. It’s often accompanied by a physical reaction—a tightness in my chest—and a thought like, "Wow, earlier me really went through some things!" At the same time, I have to suppress wide smiles so my face doesn’t hurt because there's truly nothing quite like reading something written specifically for you. That’s what *D(e)ad* is all about. It’s a work that dissects emotions with surgical accuracy and features humor so particular it could only come from someone who is simultaneously funny, vulnerable, insightful, evolving, recovering, talented, and willing to risk alienating those who simply won't understand—because *D(e)ad* isn’t intended for them. It’s by Isabella Roland, a person who embodies humor, intelligence, brilliance, and an absolute lack of fear, and that’s what makes it feel so personally resonant. And because of that, it also manages to be, in a remarkable and poignant way, made for me as well. Rating: 10000000/10, without reservation, five hundred bajillion stars, the most extended keyboard pounding imaginable, and a perfect combination of salty tears, cheek muscles sore from smiling too much, and disorientation because it’s hard to believe less than two hours have passed since the initial shock.
