It proved to be an enjoyable film experience. Since this was my first exposure to any version of 101 Dalmatians, I wasn't influenced by comparisons to other adaptations. The writing is clever and amusing, which is surprising given that multiple writers contributed—often resulting in a chaotic and unfocused product. Certain actions undertaken by Estella/Cruella are remarkably inventive as she develops her talent for mischievousness. I won’t elaborate extensively; I simply found it entertaining to watch. A small part of me questioned how this character, possessing some redeeming qualities, transforms into what appears to be a more villainous version later on, but because I'm unfamiliar with the 101 Dalmatians narrative, that isn’t something I need to concern myself with, and you don’t either.
