This film delivers one of the strongest narratives for a villain’s beginnings that I’ve encountered. Watching it was genuinely enjoyable. Both Emma actors are delightful to observe; they both portrayed their roles exceptionally well. The Emma in particular shines as both Estella and Cruella. The creation of the setting and the development of the characters are outstanding. The backstory provided for Cruella is truly remarkable. The musical score is superb, and the costume designs certainly warrant an Academy Award. I was captivated by the beauty of the costumes featured in this movie. The cinematography and direction were top-notch. Cruella’s character shares some traits with Joker and Harley Quinn, but ultimately she distinguishes herself from both of those antagonists. She's driven by a desire for vengeance and recognition, shaped by past experiences, much like the Joker. And she appreciates distinctive costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, reminiscent of Harley Quinn. Like Harley, Cruella is cynical and self-serving; however, while Harley’s actions stem from flawed choices made with good intentions, Cruella exhibits sociopathic tendencies and a degree of cruelty. It's an entertaining, unexpected, and captivating film—I thoroughly loved it.
