This film stands out as my top choice among Lee’s work, and it was an obvious pick for me given my fondness for martial arts movies and its leading actors. The cinematography by Peter Pau and Dun Tan's score rightfully earned two of the four Academy Awards they were nominated for, which totaled ten nominations overall. While the film's quality and narrative are why this one, instead of more well-known martial arts films like 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin' or other Shaw Brothers’ classics, became essential viewing for everyone regardless of gender or background—much like how ‘Rocky’ transcends being just a boxing movie because of its romantic element. It remains compelling to watch now, and the sequence involving the destruction of the restaurant is among the most striking I’ve encountered.
