The death of a domineering family head sets off an investigation when it becomes clear that everyone in the house had reason to want him gone, leading to a surprising resolution. It’s a very recognizable Agatha Christie story brought to life within a gorgeous estate, and featuring solid performances from the cast. While it's a decent adaptation, it doesn’t surpass what you would typically see in a television presentation of her work. I managed to anticipate some of the plot twists about ten minutes before they happened, and the film has an unexpectedly gloomy atmosphere; you might want to have some lights on while watching. -- DrNostromo.com
