It’s my first experience with Jackie Chan appearing in a movie made outside of Hollywood, and it's left me wanting to see more films like this! *Crime Story* turned out to be an enjoyable 107 minutes or so, just as I suspected – he generally delivers a good time. This film from 1993 leans more toward drama than comedy, which makes sense since it’s inspired by a true story. The action and stunt sequences are what really draw you in, but I also appreciated the music; it's particularly effective at the end and during the closing credits. Chan is consistently engaging to watch, and Kent Cheng’s acting was also very good – he seemed perfectly cast for his role. One interesting thing I learned about this movie is that portions of the final scenes were filmed in Kowloon Walled City before it was torn down.
