CREED feels like the latest installment in the ROCKY series. To be honest, what I really wanted was another Rocky movie, so this spin-off completely caught me off guard. But it makes sense, considering Rocky Balboa is getting older. Plus, with all these reboots happening now, keeping a franchise going and introducing a new generation to it seems like a pretty clever idea. This way, they can keep the original fans on board too. I’m hoping this continues in a similar fashion to the James Bond films, because the young star, Jordan, has the potential to carry on the 'Rocky' legacy for over thirty years and make some really great movies. I’m not sure exactly how they managed it, but they kept things straightforward and still produced a successful film. This is the director of 'Fruitvale Station' and Jordan’s second hit in a row. I’d love to see that team come back together for another big movie. Stallone’s involvement certainly made a difference, but the way his character was written suggests that the next film will be more emotionally driven, especially concerning the relationship between Rocky and Adonis, like the one with Micky. I also hope they improve on the romantic subplot. I grew up watching the 'Rocky' movies, so I really wanted it to at least be good, but it’s a fantastic movie and I absolutely recommend it for people like me. Younger viewers can experience the start of something new within the Rocky story too. CREED is the new ROCKY. The screenplay followed the same structure as the original films, even the music felt very similar, yet everything was modernized to fit today's world. Now I’m eagerly awaiting a sequel in the next three years. 8/10
