Coyote vs. Acme turned out to be an unexpectedly enjoyable film. The central idea—Wile E. Coyote taking legal action against Acme Corp over their unreliable merchandise, presented as a courtroom comedy—had the potential to feel thin, but it manages to get laughs by treating the legal storyline with a degree of sincerity. John Cena is amiable in his role as the slick corporate attorney, and the combination of real-world footage with the traditional Looney Tunes animation style is appealing without relying excessively on familiar references. The movie does lose some momentum around its midpoint when the courtroom scenes become predictable, and certain gags don’t quite work the second time through. Nevertheless, there's a genuine warmth to it, and the fact that the studio almost suppressed this film for tax purposes makes wanting it to succeed even more understandable. It’s good entertainment for families—not something you absolutely need to see, but definitely worth checking out.
