It’s remarkable that it took so long in America's legal environment for someone to realize "ACME" products were faulty! Now, “Wile E. Coyote” has had enough of things going wrong and hires lawyer "Avery" (Will Forte) to sue "Foghorn Leghorn" and his attorney "Buddy" (John Cena). The coyote can’t talk; they can't get the "Road Runner" to testify about what happened, and it seems like their defense isn't getting through to "Elmer Fudd," who appears unsure of whose side he’s on—or maybe he knows? Will they succeed? I especially liked “Foghorn Leghorn,” because he surprisingly suggested that these devices were being tested on cartoon characters rather than actual people, since you can't really harm "Bugs" or "Daffy," or any of the other pigs. That seemed like a reasonable point! It’s not something "Avery" wants to give in on, though, as their antics continue and provide opportunities to revisit old segments from the frequently disastrous chases between cat and bird on that well-known road/bridge/tunnel—or wherever things could go wrong. My problem is that I never really connected with the "Looney Tunes" characters when I was younger; the ones who talk usually just annoyed me, and these coyote scenarios felt repetitive compared to “Tom & Jerry,” only without any friendly personalities involved. Nevertheless, this works well as a glimpse into Hollywood animation history, and with Cena and the pompous southern rooster both at their best, it’s a nicely packaged bit of comedic nostalgia.
