This film proved to be remarkably dull. It’s strange, considering the combination of elements suggested by its name: "Cowboys & Aliens." Those are typically ingredients for an exciting experience. I enjoy Westerns and Sci-Fi films; this one felt like it should have been a fun, easy watch. However, it ended up being quite boring. The beginning is promising—a man injured in the desert after some kind of conflict—but quickly creates a sense of familiarity, with the only distinction being the alien device on his wrist. It then falls into familiar patterns and tropes common to Spaghetti Westerns. At that point, if you’re still engaged, you deserve an award. The story moves further into science fiction territory, but even that doesn't make it better; at this stage, you’re already thinking about what you’ll be having for dinner the next day. When the major plot twist arrives and the Native Americans appear, your mental meal has escalated to something elaborate—a dish so impressive it would impress your girlfriend, who wasn’t particularly interested in either of the genres featured. By the end, all I wanted was a nap, and I couldn't believe that something so lackluster could come from a movie called "Cowboys & Aliens."
