This film presents a glimpse into the lives of two cows, using very personal camera work to show their everyday routines. It’s a depiction of what seems like ordinary, unexciting existence, all leading toward their role in providing food for people. While I don't feel this is the right space to debate the ethics surrounding farming practices, the pictures will almost certainly spark different perspectives on how we raise animals for meat and whether that’s right or wrong. The film offers many close-up images of these cows without offering any opinions; they simply make sounds, leaving it up to the viewer to decide if those noises indicate unhappiness or something else entirely – perhaps amusement at the cameraman stepping in manure. It seems we're meant to reach our own conclusions about what’s happening. As a movie, I thought this was quite tedious. The length felt excessive; the film’s apparent message became obvious early on, and everything that followed just seemed to hammer it home. If it encourages discussion, then that’s positive, but as a cinematic experience, I found it depressing.
