It’s genuinely nice to experience this charming tale centered around a young man named Lucas, portrayed by Paulo Sousa, who resides with his aunt. Things take an interesting turn when his troubled cousin, Mario—played by writer/co-director Thiago Cazado—arrives for a visit following time spent incarcerated; the two boys develop a connection that Auntie Lourdes, who is deeply religious and rather innocent, seems to miss or perhaps understands more than she lets on. The film handles things with warmth and romance, avoiding any harshness or prejudice; it’s simply a thoughtful look at how Catholic beliefs and same-sex relationships can coexist, all while incorporating some playful antics from Julia, played by Duda Esteves, who has harbored a long-standing affection for Lucas and isn't thrilled about his new relationship. There's a clear spark between the two young men, and the conclusion provides a satisfying resolution. It’s simply an enjoyable watch!
