The gunplay is enjoyable to watch. A solitary outpost of law enforcement, an inmate whose background remains unclear, and the sense that something bad is about to happen – it all seems recognizable? However, this isn't a rehash of Assault on Precinct 13, but rather a new version of this well-trodden formula. It doesn’t aim to be a complex psychological study, or a high-budget action spectacle, nor does it attempt to present a confusing twist on familiar ideas. What it delivers is simply entertainment. There's no dullness, and the story avoids noticeable flaws; some exaggerated action sequences are combined with strong performances, and the storyline blends recognizable components with original touches, so it doesn’t feel stale. The filmmaking itself is well-executed, and the production quality is good. It isn't essential viewing; but if you're looking for a fun time, I would suggest checking this out.
